Skull Rules
Skull · 3-6 players · ~15-30 min
Overview
Skull pairs minimal rules with intense table reads. With only 4 discs (3 roses, 1 skull) and hidden placement, you must guess what others have stacked. Place the skull too early and people see through your bluff; too late and you'll be the target.
Round flow
- Place: Starting with the lead, each player adds 1 disc face-down per turn. On your turn you may instead start bidding (after placing at least one disc this round).
- Bid: The first bidder declares N (1 to total discs on table). Going clockwise, others pass or raise.
- Challenge: When only the bid leader remains (or the bid hits the maximum), they become the challenger. They must flip their entire own stack top-to-bottom first.
- Targeting: After own stack is fully revealed, the challenger picks other players' top discs one at a time.
- Result: Reveal N roses to succeed (+1 point); reveal a skull at any point to fail (lose 1 disc).
Disc types
- 🌸 Rose × 3 Safe disc. Each rose flipped during a challenge increases the count by one.
- 💀 Skull × 1 Trap disc. The challenger fails the moment a skull is revealed.
Actions
- Place a disc On your turn, add 1 disc face-down to your stack.
- Start a bid Allowed only after you've placed at least one disc this round. Declare N from 1 to the total discs on the table.
- Raise Bid higher than the previous. You must also have placed at least one disc.
- Pass Drop out of this round's bidding. You cannot rejoin.
- Flip own Forced top-to-bottom on your own stack. If a skull appears, you fail immediately.
- Flip other After your own stack is exhausted, pick other players' top discs one at a time.
Winning condition
The first player with 2 successful challenges wins. Alternatively, if everyone else is eliminated, the last player standing wins.
