Abracada...What? | 2-5 players | 30 min

Overview

Each player gets 5 spellstones, but you can't see your own — only the other players can. On your turn you call out a spell (1-8); if you have a matching stone, the effect resolves, otherwise you lose life.

Setup

  • 36 spellstones (1×1 + 2×2 + ... + 8×8) shuffled
  • Deal 5 stones face-down to each player (own hand hidden from self)
  • 4 stones become secret stones (hidden from everyone)
  • 2-player: remove 12 / 3-player: remove 6 (publicly)
  • Each player starts with 6 life tokens

On your turn

  1. Call a spell number (1-8)
  2. If you have that stone → spend it, resolve effect, optionally cast again (only equal or higher number)
  3. If you don't → -1 life (spell 1 failure: lose die-roll life instead)
  4. May end turn voluntarily after a successful cast
  5. On turn end, refill hand to 5 from the main pile (if any)

Spell Effects

  • 1. Ancient DragonRoll die — all other players lose that much life
  • 2. Dark WandererAll others -1, you +1
  • 3. Sweet DreamRoll die — you gain that much life (max 6)
  • 4. Night SingerPeek 1 secret stone and keep it (worth +1 pt if you survive)
  • 5. Lightning TempestBoth neighbors -1 (2p: only one)
  • 6. BlizzardLeft neighbor -1
  • 7. FireballRight neighbor -1
  • 8. Magic DrinkYou +1

Scoring

  • Empty your hand → instant win, 3 points
  • Knock out another player → attacker 3 pts, other survivors 1 pt, victim 0
  • Self-eliminate → you get 0, other survivors 1 (no winner)
  • Survivors: +1 pt per secret stone collected

Winning condition

First to reach 8 points wins. Tiebreaker: last round's points, then most life tokens.
